Layout Services
The first step is to schedule a 15-30 minute free phone conversation to discuss your book project, your goals for it, and its current status. This will help us to make recommendations for what services may be required. Following are a few questions you may want to think about before the conversation.
- Are you finished with a draft version of your manuscript?
- Is your book fiction or nonfiction?
- Has your manuscript been edited by a professional editor? What, if any, editorial services are you seeking through UWP?
- Do you want your book in print and eBook format? What size do you envision your print book will be? What format? Hardcover? If yes, with or without a dust jacket? Perfect bound paperback? eBook only?
- Does your book have images and charts? If so, approximately how many? Are the images available as separate images? Are they at least 300 dots per inch in resolution?
- Does your book have footnotes or endnotes?
- Is your book for a specific purpose? For example, is it a family history? A special publication for an organization? Do you expect to sell your book commercially?
- Do you want your book to be available on Amazon?
- Do you want your book to be available for order through other online booksellers and brick and mortar bookstores?
Based on the answer to these questions, you will be asked to email or otherwise send the manuscript electronically (via Google Drive, Dropbox, or other secure service). Once we've examined your manuscript document, we will issue a personalized quotation for graphic design and printing management services. If editorial services are included in the quotation, a sample edit will be provided.
